Best Local Ways to Help Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

The Seattle Seahawks and the MLS Sounders said Red Cross volunteers will be at CenturyLink Field this weekend collecting cash donations to help in storm relief, according to the Associated Press. The Sounders play Friday night, Novmeber 2 and the Seahawks on Sunday, November 4.

Rob Roy Cocktail Lounge in Belltown is offering cocktail specials all weekend, November 2 – 4, based on favorite NYC drinks. NYC Relief specials are $6/each and will go toward New York bars and bartenders who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The Seattle Theatre Group will donate $5 of each ticket purchased to Dance Theatre of Harlem‘s November 16 & 17 Moore Theatre performances to the American Red Cross. Tickets purchased to either performance, online or in person. Click HERE for details.

Best in Class Education Center is hosting a Fundraiser Dinner for Hurricane Sandy Victims at the House of Hong Restaurant on Thursday, November 8 at 6:00pm. Tickets are $25/person, $250/table. 100% of your ticket purchase or donation will directly benefit the Red Cross. Call 425.880.2688 for reservations.

According to Eater.com, several restaurants around the US are pitching in to help by donating money to the Red Cross and other relief funds. Dine at Bainbridge Island’s Four Swallows Restaurant and part of your dinner bill will help with the relief efforts.

Federal Way based World Vision is on the ground in New York, through local partnerships they are distributing blankets, warm clothing, shoes and other necessities in Queens, the Bronx and Yonkers. According to World Vision’s website, more New York distributions are scheduled for the days ahead. You can go online HERE to donate to World Vision and help those recovering from Hurricane Sandy.
